Digg users launch Ron Paul Campaign

Anyone watching the first republican debate last night knew Ron Paul walked in as an underdog. Arguably, he & others were treated as such during the debate itself. However, many internet polls now put Ron Paul as the winner or in the top 3.
How did an virtually unknown candidate, disregarded by the mainstream media, perform so well on internet polls? Digg.com.
Several articles about Ron Paul and/or the debate gained some traction on Digg last night with one hitting the front page. Ron Paul supporters were out in force & voting... both on Digg & on the major polls at MSNBC.com & DrudgeReport.com.
Regardless of whether you like Ron Paul's politics or any politics at all, it is an interesting demonstration of the impact of digg.com & similar sites vs. established media outlets.
